Driving lesson questions, answered
Everything you need to know before booking your first automatic lesson.
Are all your lessons in an automatic car?
Yes. Raj teaches automatic lessons only, in a Toyota Yaris Cross with dual controls, so you can concentrate on the road instead of gears. You can see the car on the About page.
How old do I need to be, and what do I need to start?
You need to be at least 17 and hold a provisional driving licence. Bring your licence to your first lesson.
Which areas do you cover?
Lessons are available across Bournemouth and Poole only. Raj picks you up from your address, so add your postcode to the contact form and he will confirm he can cover you.
How quickly will you reply to my enquiry?
Raj replies to every enquiry within 12 hours. If it is urgent, call or text 07424 343937.
When are lessons available?
Lessons run Monday to Saturday. The last lesson of the day runs from 5pm to 6:30pm. To book a slot, get in touch.
How do I pay for lessons?
You pay after each lesson, using any payment method that suits you. Lessons are pay as you go, so there is nothing to pay in advance. See the current rates on the prices page.
Do you offer any discounts?
Students get 10% off with proof of student status. There are no block booking discounts, because lessons are pay as you go. Full details are on the prices page.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are charged at £45. The full wording is in the terms and conditions.
Do you offer intensive courses?
Yes. Intensive courses cost the same hourly price as standard lessons, but they must be booked in advance so Raj can set the time aside. Read more about the lesson types or get in touch to plan one.
I am nervous about driving. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many of Raj's students start out nervous. He is patient and understanding, and the pace of every lesson is set by you. Hear it from them on the reviews page.
Can you help me book my theory and practical tests?
Yes, Raj can help you with booking your tests. You can also use his car for your practical test.
Do you offer a recap lesson or mock test before my driving test?
Yes. Raj offers a recap lesson before your test, and a mock test, so you know what to expect on the day.
What happens if I fail my driving test?
Raj will go through the test with you to identify what went wrong, create a new lesson plan around those areas, and prepare you for your next test.
